Favorite Bourbon

Living in Ohio, is challenging to say the least, when it comes to acquiring the ones that are on the top of my list. Don't know that I have a favorite, but this is a list of ones that I always enjoy.
EW single barrel. For $30.00, I seriously don't know if there's anything that can stand up to it for value. I wouldn't hesitate to pay 50 for a bottle.
Taylor small batch or single barrel.
Weller 12 and Weller antique
Clyde Mays
Joseph Magnus
Bookers
Widow Jane
Belle Meade
Amador
Woodford double oak

Our fraternity advisor, Dr. Henry Crowgey, also happen to be one of the foremost authorities on Bourbon. His dissertation was on Bourbon and he could tie it's importance in to most if not all significant parts of American history. I remember he told us young whipper snappers "if you're going to mix Bourbon go with the highest proof because you're ruining the taste anyway" he added if you are going to drink it neat or with a cube of ice buy the best you can afford". This was late 60's but I still follow that advice.

How do you like it? I picked up a bottle of Uncut cask strength while on a road trip, and I haven't opened it yet.
I love the regular smoke wagon. I just opened this one last week and have had a couple of snorts. I was concerned because this one is higher proof, but it is smooth and good.

I've gotten so accustomed to drinking higher proof alcohol that anything at 40% tastes watery to me. I pretty much never buy anything bottled at less than 45%.

Visited my daughter and son in law. He stocked up on several bourbons. Unfortunately the 'RONA interrupted extended testing, but Old Ezra 7 was my favorite. Other contenders included Elijah Craig small batch, Traverse City Bourbon, Four Roses Small Batch, and Angel's Envy. A good selection to peruse!

Yeah, he's a good egg!

Is his dissertation available online?
