Favorite Bourbon

The twins look dark, I imagine it is good stuff.

I bought some Elijah Craig 12. It is nice and woody, good for the price but can't compete with the twice the price Woodford Reserve. I can't imagine it is meant to either.

Knocked off the last of my Eagle Rare 10 year & rotated in the Weller Antique 107 proof. Fortifying myself for the onset of winter.

I'd have to respectfully disagree. I'm drinking Woodford right now & missing the woodier & more complex flavor of the EC12. Not to mention that EC12 has the most beautiful color: dark amber in some lights peach in others....

If you like the EC12, try some Evan Williams Single Barrel for a few bucks more. Same distillery and mashbill, better result IMHO.

If you like a woody flavor, try the Buffalo Trace. It is noticeably drier than either the EC12 or the EWSB, but with a nice woody, spicy bite.

Buffalo Trace, Knob Creek, Eagle Rare and Bulleit are my favorites, they go well with the Allman Brothers!

Saw something interesting/disturbing today at my local liquor candy store.

A 'Bourbon' called "Angel's Envy". Claimed to be a KSBW... finished in port barrels.

In my book, it's no longer a KSBW. The booze hustler disagreed (one of more than a few disagreements we had on my visit). Yeah, I'm a purist.

:thumbsdn:

In my book, I guess it does.

Can it be Bourbon if it's blended with Canadian grain alcohol?

That's another horror coming on the scene.

I think it still has to be water corn wheat or rye water new charred oak barrel and two years old to be Bourbon........http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourbon_whiskey

Glad to have found what I drink and like so well. My sons like Red Stag! But when offered will drink some Rip Van but add coke or even Root Beer..... once it was a red bull!

"I am warning everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If you add anything to them, God will add to you the plagues told about in this book. If you take any words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from you your share in the tree of life. He will also take away your place in the Holy City. This book tells about these things."

You're a more patient man than I. If my son-in-laws attempted to add Coke to a pour I gave them, I'm afraid I'd be forced to shame them.

With sons you might be more forgiving........

They help me around the house you know.

You're probably (hopefully) right. But I'm a judgmental SOB when it comes to some things of great importance.

I give them some slack, I tell them " I was your age once but you have never been mine" all the time........

When I was their age I drank some really weird $hit! Drinks with fruit and umbrellas!
