AK bourbon lovers:

Help a brother out. I'm going out to a place that has a good bourbon selection. I'm hoping to try 2 or maybe 3 different ones. The list is pasted below. Any recommendations? I know Woodford, Jefferson's, Maker's and ELijah Craig. I like the first two.

Thanks in advance

E.H. Taylor Small Batch (11)
Bookers (10)
Rowan’s Creek (11)
Stagg Jr (12)
Eagle Rare (9)
Jefferson’s Reserve (10)
High West Prairie Reserve Blend (10)
Ridgemont 1792 (8)
Evan Williams 2003 Single Barrel (10)

IMHO the Hudson Baby is overpriced for what it is. I would order the Elmer T Lee, either of the Taylors, the Rock Hill, & the Jefferson before the HB. YMMV.

My biweekly trek to the likker store,Got my usual OGD&seen this down the isle.
$9&some change,100 proof.
Test it out when my shift is over.

I'm sure there is better but for my money I go with Basil Hayden's every time. Not too expensive, smooth, and just a bit sweet. Delicious.

Basil Hayden's ain't too shabby. Smooth as silk.

As Barney said, if you get a chance give the Wellers a look see.

I lucked into a bottle of their 12 yr. old juice the other day, the last bottle on the shelf at my local bottle shop.

The Weller 12 came and went byby in one day at my store of choice. New Years Eve in a matter of hours they said.

I can't fathom buying OGD in anything but the 114 proof. That stuff is just so damn good.
Been lookin foward to the 114 but none to be had here in town,Or the next town,Or the next town:thumbsdn:
The Southern Host is sweet--To sweet---Is ok mixed with RC cola,Good buzz but would not recomend doin strait shots.

Any easterners ever try Hudson Baby?

I really like the Hudson Baby. It is expensive so I only drink it when I want to take the time savor something really good.

Also, I think the yearly Evan Williams single barrel editions are among my favorite bourbons and are very reasonably priced.

Well I have an unopened bottle of Jim Beam, seven year old in the freezer now. I will admit I venture out for awhile, but I always come home to Beam.

I have a buddy coming over tonight. We will be taking shots off of the cutting board in the kitchen, then returning to the stereo room for some jamming out.

I like so many it would be hard to make a list. For sipping, Baker's, Booker's, Pappy Van Winkle. I like Knob Creek, Evan Williams Single barrel Vintage, Wild Turkey 101, Elijah Craig, Old Grand Dad 114. Four Roses small batch and single barrel. For cheap stuff I like Old Forester or Fighting Cock. I generally will not drink 80 proof rail Bourbon unless that is all there is. And I have been known to fight if someone mentions Jack Daniels in the same breath as Bourbon!

Thanks for the input, gents. I decided on 3: Evan Williams, EH Taylor, and Knob Creek, see post #1384 which I edited, although I should have quoted.
