The exhaust on that 911 air-cooled engine is super awesome.
Here's a better photo of the Fiat Dino replacement crash car -- it has a pretty distinguishing feature that makes it fairly easy to identify (though it is a somewhat lesser known car brand) -- they Dino-fied the front grill to make look more like a Dino, but didn't really touch the rest of the car:

It's a Sunbeam Alpine -- the Get Smart Sunbeam was the Tiger. The Tiger looks the same as the Alpine but, with cooperation with Carol Shelby, it has either the Ford 260CI or 289Ci V8 stuffed in it (along with other changes). My sister had an Alpine -- it was needy and unreliable (aka British
). My brother has a Tiger -- it's a hoot to drive. The Ford V8's in the Sunbeams weren't as hotly tuned as the V8's in the AC Cobra -- but it's has a ton of torque for that small light car. The "V8 burble" coming out of that small car always catches people by surprise.

For some odd reason, I get the Sunbeam Alpine mixed up with the Renault Alpine. And I know they're two completely different beasts.
My friend Randy’s A110, thats me on the left.
He crashed the car at a rally in Pennsylvania in tge early 70’s.
He dragged the car around the country until he retired in Santa Barbara CA and then finally restored it.
This was its first post restore joy ride.
I would LOVE to drive an A110 one day! It's amazing you guys can fit into it. Sometimes, I have issues getting in and out of my S2000.
The Renault Alpine A110 is a bucket list car for me. They are unbelievably cool. The new generation of Alpine's don't quite capture the original, but they are quite competent on track. We happened to be in the Alpine showroom in Paris when the F1 final was on, and we watched it in a bar they had upstairs. We also stopped by the Le Mans track and there was a track day happening -- plenty of Alpines on track and they were quite quick. Also a Lotus 2-Eleven on track (Lotus's purpose-built track car).
We barely fit and at the time the engine wasn’t well tuned and the shift was awkward.
It has a roll bar but I’d hardly trust it!
The A110 is roomier than a Europa but thats not saying much.
Speaking of Europa's -- here's a Europa chase scene from a movie. It's a really weird movie in my opinion, but the Europa footage is pretty cool.
