Yes, massive thread bump...

First, need to fix some missing image links...

The 342,000 mile 245:

Underhood (photo is of the engine when it was in the car shown in my avatar):

Sold that car back in 2011. Replaced it with the wagon below, which has a straight body, unlike the other one. Mechanically, it had some issues, and was off the road between 2012 and 2018. Been my daily driver since then. Current iteration:

E-code headlamps, the heavier duty 5 mph bumpers used on the early cars and the Canadian 1983-85 cars, and the usual 16" alloys.

In 2016, bought a friend's brother's 242 Turbo for $500. Former east coast car, so it's a bit crusty in spots. Basically a somewhat rusted and stock version of the 242 I have in my avatar. In 2017, the engine popped its head gasket. Decided to swap that with the attached transmission into the engineless at the time wagon. In its place, installed a factory remanufactured B23FT engine from a 760 Turbo. After dealing with some issues, involving head noise - apparently used a valve shim bucket that was too loose, so the shim was bouncing up and down as the cam was operating that valve. Had a machine shop check it out and clean the head up a bit, then reinstalled it. Started dealing with coolant leaks from a water pump that simply would not seal. Since I've had the wagon handy, the project has taken a while to get completed. I did finally get the car on the road last summer for a test drive. Still have some minor vacuum leaks and other things to take care of before it actually sees decent road time, but...

When purchased:

This is my newest ride, I struck a deal for 10 year, 120k mile bumper to bumper warranty, lifetime powertrain warranty, and 7 year/84,000 mile zero deductible scheduled maintenance costs.

2021 Hyundai Elantra Limited.

I traded my 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom with 3950 miles, for this 2014 HD Superglide, 103 ci with 5900 miles.

And I still have my 2009 Silverado LS with the fiberglass fender flares/running boards.

Not a photo of my actual specimen -- i's locked away for (a thus far very wet) winter, but it is this make, model, year, color scheme, wheels and exterior condition - 1999 SAAB VIGGEN COUPE:

Note: Condition of its interior is also almost as new. Just a handful > 50,000 miles, i.e., an average of approximately 2,200 miles per year. We met @ SAAB's test track in Stockholm, Sweden in autumn 1998; I took delivery (in The States) in spring 1999.

I am a fan of these. It's the 240 series or something "newer" than that? Anyway, I've liked the looks of the Volvo "wagons" since (@ least) the 1970s, maybe earlier.

yes, 1992 240 wagon for me. My 7th Volvo, 4th 200 series, and 4th wagon. I'm currently shopping for a XC90 Sport with the Yamaha built V8
