My try at a Really Nice Rebuild Marantz 1060

Very nice and a good work! I just found a 1060 to make pair with 115B, it will be mine next week. The seller told me it is in good condition, a minor scratch on front panel and power switch is gone.

BK, what did you bias your 1060 at? I think the SM says 7.5mV, but saw Patfont biased his at 15mV per Catrafter's input.

In the last twp days, I've completed my power supply board, preamp, and phono. Just have the power amp board and coupling caps and big supply cap left.

I believe to what the manual called for, I dont over bias my units but im sure it wouldnt hurt anything. Amp board is pretty straight forward.

SM says across one resistor set for 7.5mV, I always go across both resistors on any piece of equipment I am working on, so 15mV. Both are correct.

Ah ok, so it is the same. I didnt read the post so I wasnt sure if it was an over bias deal. Some people do it, im just not a fan of cooking outputs for a small sonic gain.

Has anyone replaced the stock speaker posts with something more modern? If so, any part that will fit into the existing housing without any extra drilling/cutting. Looks easy enough to do if you find a 4-post module that will fit into that slot.

I just got the parts list from BK. I can't wait to dive into my 1060! I was impressed with how my 1030 turned out with new caps, diodes and replacing those hiss prone transistors on the tone and phono boards. But it will have to wait. Heading to Vegas Friday for a week. Gotta get my yearly Blue Man Group fix! Thanks again for the list BK! :thmbsp:

I think I've not enough posts to open a new page about my recap. So just a picture of mine. I choose Elna Tonerex 6800uf, Vishay 10000uf BC Serie 101. New drivers-transistors & Nichicon ES-Muse.



Now, it's not the same amp. Silence, punchy, live and nuanced. It drives Spendor S100 well even if they need big shoulders!
