don't know how Yamaholic searched but I google image searched CCCP Woofer and the ones in post 2 showed up on the first page of images. They were in this AK thread from earlier this year (not much more info though) http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=360040

Russian indeed. CCCP simply means USSR. Looks like a serious driver.

Made in USSR in 1973. Could you post cabinets pictures please? Is there a name of the speakers?

Interesting. It almost looks like a Soviet copy/interpretation of a Goodmans woofer.

Probably made by Lomo. (the same folks who make those plastic cameras with a cult following).

You could try pinging Thorsten Loesch on the diyaudio forum; he's from East Germany and has good knowledge of Soviet equipment.

I don't think so. Lomo is actually stands for "Leningrad optical and mechanical company". Yes, they made cameras, but I don't remember them making speaker drivers.

A quick eBay search (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...kw=&_osacat=50597&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313) shows that they made quite a few different speakers.

Ah, so you've visited the Spy Museum in Washington DC.

Lomo? May be. I don't know. That bunch of drivers with xAxx markings were intended not for consumer speakers, but rather for PA systems (clubs, movie theaters, etc). For example 4A32.

I'm seeing brz in the center of the circle. I have no idea about the b or the r but the z might be short for zavod, or factory. (B... R... Factory.) On the other hand, they may just be random letters.

Comes to think of it-you're probably right.
Bryanski Radio Zavod - sounds about right.
