Here's one I picked up a few weeks ago. I plan to clean it up a little cosmetically and fix the minor carpentry imperfections. But overall, pretty well made. I like some of the design ideas. This is based on a Tubelab SE board. This is a 45 SE, with the option(choke) of also running 300B. 1.5 glorious watts!

Very nice look! reminds me of the Atomic Ranch style of the late 50's

Here ya go. The little Realistics have a single 6AQ5, a 12AX7, and a 6X4 for about 5 watts. The smallest amp claims 5 watts, but I've seen them with other branding claiming 3 watts. They're so CUUUTE !

My Dennis Had Inspire 45 FireBottle Amp. Only 2wpc and the best sounding amp I have ever owned. It has vintage RCA Radiotron globe type 45 tubes, a Sylvania 5Z3 rectifier tube and a 6SL7GT Tung-Sol new release tube. The most amazing 2 watts I have ever heard.

Here is my EICO AF4 Clone

This is a stereo amp using Heyboer output trannys and the original AF4 circuit sans preamp section. The power supply is upgraded to CLCLC configuration, i.e., capacitor, inductor, capacitor, inductor, capacitor. The amp sounds very nice, smooth and warm. Classic SEP with moderate feedback to keep the sound tidy. I sold it to someone in the Midwest.

This is my SEP stereo for my electronics work room. I have a Sansui tuner and some small Coral full range oval driver speaks. Makes a nice radio while I'm hobbying.

Hey, that's a good looking amp! Can you tell a little more about it? It's a bit iron-heavy (not a bad thing)... are those interstage trafos at the front?

Sure. There is an extra choke underneath... 35lbs to get 1-3wpc lol.

Two 6da4 damper diodes
7F8 driver tube
45/2a3 power tube
Two small filament transformers for the 2a3/45
Power transformer is an old freed.
2 Power supply chokes
hammond 126c interstage transfomers
james audio outputs.


It is pretty simple not too many parts.

The hardest part was the metal work.

The mistakes I made on my first build were:
Had the LED's on the 7f8 reversed so no sound came through.
Had the interstage transformer wired wring so the sound was muddy and weird.
After working through those it sounded great.

I'd like to do a Brook 12A with all modern parts next but just because I've always wanted one.

Nice build! Your thread Easy SE for the Masses got me interested in the diytube board. I ended up buying an existing Clementine Darling SET amp (cheaper & better build than I could have done.....!)

Lots of great looking amplifiers in this thread. You guys make me want to quit dragging my feet on a few projects I picked up last summer from a fellow AKer's garage sale.

My little Single Ended amps, all 6BQ5/EL84. The Akai's are from a M-4 Terracorder, they are a bit odd as they use 6AU6s rather than 12AX7s . The stereo amp I assume is a Magnavox, but as there are no markings anywhere on it, someone else may know better.
