I was there too. A five-hour ride there on back roads and three-hour ride back on the interstate. If you ride motorcycles, you need to add this to your bucket-list.

We have the North version of that event at the end of July annually at Mid-Ohio Raceway (or whatever they're calling it now) in Lexington, Vintage Motorcycle Days, a 3 day event. Only a couple hour or less saddle time for me, depending on my throttle discipline or lack of. Done it a few times, camped in the best & worst weather. Best part for me besides the huge swap meet is seeing old, unusual, goofy &/or exotic bikes running around the place that one usually only sees in magazines, movies or museums along with old running relics being ridden by old running relics on the track & in the pits. It's awesome.

I already own a 2022 BMW R9T PURE, but decided I needed a lighter, more nimble bike for back road exploring and running errands around town. After doing a lot of research I started narrowing my search to smaller dual sports bike. I test drove a couple other models before choosing this low mileage 2024 KLX300 with approx. $1600 of aftermarket accessories.

I'm looking forward to future adventures on my modest KLX300.

Even those old-school "enduro" tread tires could be an adventure on wet pavement.

Whenever I crossed a paved road, the one thing I ALWAYS did was pop this crazy headstand wheelie! Asphalt doesn't slide like dirt or sand.

I bought a 2005 triumph speedmaster in May '05, still riding it today. Turned 50k miles late this summer. Been in 8 states so far, no plans to get rid of it. Very reliable ride, I'm only on battery no.2. May you have the luck & fun I've had & anticipate much more of!

I've been there, too. Lots of fun. But if you love bikes and have never visited the Barber Museum, that's a real treat!

Almost a year since there's been a post in this thread. Same bikes for me, took the FLH for a ride in the mountains today.

I was riding through North Dakota in the end of June, finishing up a 6-week adventure that took me from Montana to Port Angeles, Wa and then cross country to Pittsburgh, PA, then the back roads of West Virginia, and eventually back to Montana.

Thanks for reviving the thread! New bike for me this year, got it mid-April though just the weekend before last did I finally get the last three accessories that I ordered with the bike, including the color-matched belly pan, the LED fog lights, and the center stand.

2025 Triumph Tiger Sport 800, in Cosmic Yellow.

The rear top box is not factory. Theirs is a huge 47 liter behemoth so I got a Givi MonoLock B360NT2 that's still big enough for my one helmet when I stop for lunch, never have any pillion riders. I used a factory color match paint kit from RS Bike Paint in the UK to make it look the part.

What a fantastic bike this is! I can ride it every bit as quick as I did the last bike, a '21 Street Triple R, but with more comfort and confidence!

Anyone know what this is? It could be a BSA engine in a Triumph frame. Looks like a big single with 2 mufflers. Scrambler style.

Looks like it could have started life as an early-1970s BSA B50 500 (or 250cc) Scrambler. Then again, the engine resembles a 250 Triumph of that era.
