Not my main bailiwick [unlike some very old 'mates' of mine]; but one friend got me a free ticket to a show, yesterday; and I thought 'if one guy here smiles at the sight of one of these bikes: "Job done"'. So:
1970 BMW R/50/5 frame, R60/5 motor currently with R75/5 heads. 4 speed transmission.
It's apart right now, changed rims to BMW/akront black anodized rims, motor raised in frame and moved forward an inch and braced. Might be done this year if I quit looking at preamps and reel to reels.
I just upgraded from my 2000 R1 to this '09... WOW there is a difference! This one has the factory original 3-mode selectable throttle response, and the crossplane crank. HID headlights, Leo Vince carbon fiber exhaust (with good illegal cat delete pipe), CRG levers, and custom satin black pearl paint (OK job, but might re-do). Despite the record cold weather and wind, I took it out yesterday, and I'm going to love this thing! I got it from the original owner with 8300 miles, and no engine mods (HARD to find without engine mods and with factory extended warranty). The former owner had the suspension tuned to his weight, and he's 100 lbs heavier than I am, so I had to re-tune the suspension. Got it close, but more tinkering needed.
Hello fellow AK bikers! This past few months, I have discovered the wonderful world of motorcycling. I picked up a sweet looking 82 Kawasaki KZ440-B that was lowered and bobbed. It's got the whole rustic army look. I have found I prefer riding to driving the car. Anyone in the Southern Utah area ride? I need to get out and do more recreational riding since most of my riding is commuting to the college and back. Well, here she is:
Here's my beast. I've had her for about 4 years now(make that 5 years, wow got it in 08! Time flies). Love the classic looks mixed with decent riding position and modern 1100cc power!
Here's my namesake. My 77 cb750. The r is my moniker for the modifications I've made to improve its handling and performance over the original parts on the bike.
Got the 440B in the shop getting some custom work. Hopefully will have it back by next wednesday. I'll have to post new pics BTW, your bikes are looking great!
