Thanks. It was a deal at Sam's 6 years ago. It's amazing what can be done with MDF and veneer!
My laptop goes in the center drawer. I put a sliding shelf in the left compartment to hold my all-in-one printer/scanner. Makes it look tidy.

Sams? That's amazing. It is a good looking desk, though.

Nice photo, conservative and warm, even with the cool greens.

What military school ? I missed the military at McCallie by 2 years, they dropped it in May 1970, I started Sept 1971.

Thanks! I loved decorating my office.

Here's the desk before I upgraded laptops. I love being able to hide the hardware.

I guess this is putting a place with the face!

Linton Hall Military School, Bristow, VA.

When I was there, it was K through 8. There were almost 300 boarding students and no day students. It was run by Benedictine Sisters.

People wonder about nuns running a military school. Back in those days they knew how to "do" discipline. I still get nervous around women dressed in black and white!

Here's a link to some history. Our dress uniforms were identical to the pic of the class of 1956.

OK, I'll throw one in. This picture was taken, oh, 3 hours ago? Me with some of the gear that hasn't yet found a home (in the rest of the house, that is). I'm standing right in front of the other SDA and the Sanyo JCX-2400K and Yamaha CR-450 (thanks Art) stacked on top of it.

They're Polk SDA 1a's, circa 1983. Notice the little brass plaque? The first SDA's had two little ports there. The 1A's eschewed them. So as not to waste any cabinets, they plugged the ports and covered them with Matthew's signature ('signature series', rather rare version). I'm going to go through the x-overs, and get the tweets sorted, but boy, do they thunder! I can still remember being in high school (when these were new) and seeing the ad with Matthew in his lab coat surrounded by speakers.

Here I am!

I love my job, I just photographed the capture of this bear cub that wandered, for a third time, into a suburban NJ neighborhood.
He ran out of a nature reservation in Millburn and up a tree in a Seton Hall Law professor's back yard a few weeks ago!
The Forestry and Wildlife guys took him upstate and released him.

When I'm not listening to music, surfing, or hanging with the family or friends. I'm rockin' out on rock. Last Saturday on a slightly over hanging 5.11c.
