Wowzers, man. I haven't a clue as to how they sound, but I sure do like how they look. Nice ported 3-ways (Is that a 10" woofer or a 12"?). Great-looking cabs, and the drivers look like they're high-quality.

ATC makes some of the best drivers, including many used in recording studios. As of today, I cannot think of other speakers that are able to produce sound so close to the actual one produced by acoustic instruments (I am a classical music lover).

These would be my preferred (realistic) upgrade. The £7000 PMC PB1i ...

Money no object, I'd love a pair of PMC BB5 XBD-A's. Only £70,000. Roll on the lottery win ....

I have a pair of those, they were my main music speakers for about six years. Don't know if I'd really consider them 'ultimate' speakers, in the spirit of the original post, but they're not bad.

I have the original 1970s L300 Summits. They will prolly stay where they are.

I've had the woofers re-coned (before there were surround kits) once, and new surrounds twice. They still sound good to me. Crossovers were tested and replaced with new caps once.
