What is your favorite guitar solo and why?

I've been listening to more Guitar-heavy music lately, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, and much more. I think the best guitar solo I have heard is from Telegraph Road, but I want to hear what you think.

Comfortably Numb - Floyd/Gilmour.
Air Dance - Sabbath/Iommi. The outro solo.
Take your pick - KISS/Ace Frehley. His solos often exist as songs within songs.
Sailor's Tale - King Crimson/Fripp

Why? ...you simply cannot imagine the songs without those solos, and they are impeccably good...

While nothing comes immediately to mind, I go for a more "legato," less-is-more approach. While I appreciate speed, to me a tune such as Peter Greene's "I Need Your Love So Bad" is what grabs me. Gary Moore did it well, but then would get out of control with a million notes per second and volume . But "Still Got The Blues For You" and "Parisian Walkways" are good examples.

I'm pretty tired of all the usual suspects. I'd be fine with never hearing Hotel California ever again.

One of my current favorites is Adam Granduciel's solo in The War on Drugs, An Ocean in Between the Waves.

Honorable mention: PF`s "Mother", along with the aforementioned "Comfortably Numb".
If steel guitar efforts are allowed: Jackson Brown`s steel player`s emotionally charged live version`s "Running on Empty".
Red Ryder`s "Lunatic Fringe", IMO, is tasty too.
