Who's listening to FM Tonight? What tuner?

i a listening to NPR's NYC/Newark clsssical station WQXR, thru a tremendous sounding Sansui TU-719....
This week I get to hook up my McIntosh MR71...I better make antenna arrangements, as nothing I owned in the past pulls the stations in like the Sansui.

Oh, and the antenna. Bet this is a new one:

maybe I will try this...the signal for me is coming across a whole bunch of brick buildings...

Hey- were are getting a freak summer rain/T-storm today in Calif. So volume is up louder than normal. Besides, in the spare room on a comfy bed with the 2 doggies lying here snoozing - wife stuck in front of the tube (TV) as usual

WFMT 98.7 Chicago - The Los Angeles Philharmonic in Concert: Brahms Symphony #4 in E Minor. Listening to it on a Sony STR-6120 hooked up to a pair of KEF Reference 103.2. Beautiful.

89.1 - WEMU - Michigan. "Undercurrents"... very nice sound on a Marantz 2270 and Mission 700's. This is a pretty interesting program. All music. I think it broadcasts nationwide.

Classic FM((uk) on Sony ST-5000F. Just got it back after having all the out of spec components replaced. Took 7 months

Having said that, it sounds incredible and beats the pants off my Yamaha T2 and Sony STS-730ES. Never thought i'd listen to anything that could do that.

Really loving it. Now on the lookout for a wood case.

yep, and I was listening to him when I was in high school around '78. hearing him play the stones, then david allan coe, and waylon then back to the dead exposed me to country - growing up in LA and driving around friday nites listening to the rabbit on AM

I'm listening to 102.1 Dover NH. on a Luxman T-03 doesn't pull the best of the tuners I have but sonically it's a home run hitter.

Terrific tuner. Wish I had held on to mine. Who did the work?
WRTI's Sunday morning program on the 'Terry upgraded' MR80. Some quite eclectic gospel-type music. Got to luv good FM and the music you'll hear no-where else.

They did the work and when I originally got the tuner back there was a hum, especially noticable on classic music when the music drew down to a lull. I posted it back and the Engineer was struggling to locate the problem. As it happens, he was about to send it back saying he could not replicate my problem but he decided to tried one more time. Luck would have it that it did it's hum thing for him! He put that right and now I've got it back.

One thing though is that he had to replace the transformer as the original was shot. He left the old one in to retain the asthetics and put the new transformer in the bottom of the unit out of the way. Good idea and works well too.

I'll have to take a few pics inside. But here's one just snapped. It's sat on my Pioneer TX-9100 which has a far prettier display.

Before we head off to the "Happy-Clappy" Sunday gathering, listening to "Ancient Voices" on and from KMFA 89.5 in Austin on the little Sony downstairs (through the big speakers) and on the NAD 7140 upstairs (on the little speakers).

I'm listing to "Rewind with Gary Bryan" in Windsor Ontario on WOMC @ 104.3 FM out of Detriot Michagan through a Magnum Dynalab MD 100T Hybred Analog FM Tuner with the silver wiring option. 1977 is the year now for the top 5.

A simple $20 Dipole Antenea max's out my signal being so close to Detroit. Oddly it kills my $125 1/2 wave coil loaded antenea, even for weak or more distant stations, looks better and is free standing. Go figure. Brought the expensive antenea back to the dealer, he say's its fine!

I'll bet your talking about coffee. French roast from Trader Joe's this morning.

Staying with the MR80 and WRTI this morning. Classical all day.
