Mustang since it was built without bailout dough. Though the Camaro looks sweet! I wouldn't touch a new Mopar if it was free. Growing up my father bought all types of Didge and Chrysler and they were all dogs, even new!
Well I'm heavy into 1/4 mile (my wife and I both race at the track regularily), and all the power Dodge and Chevy put into thier platforms, and then they put pos IRS that can't hook into thier cars, and added an assload of weight to them. You would think with all thier boasted HP claims, thier cars would be doing better at the track (and to me, street racing doesn't mean jack ****).
I have a 2005 Mustang and wife has a 2000. Personally, I've had a hard time with the new looks on the 2010 mustang, but it is growing on me, I can dig the front end...the rear end...needs some work. I would give looks to the Challenger, close second to the Mustang. The camarao is new and cool, but visilbilty sucks on it if you drive it, and the interior sucks. The lines on it don't flow well/fit, the best one I've seen is black....now the black ones look awesome.
Of course the interior on the Challenger is just a Charger, which should not have been called a Charger (that can go on for days!). At the end of the day, its what you like. Nice to see 3 pony cars back on the road.
My partner has a 2010 Camaro with a V6. New model. I drove it the other day. Sweet handling and good on gas. Very peppy. I like it. Rides well to boot. Chevy has something here. The V8 should be a real mover. The best recent GM vehicle I have driven (I do love the Pontiac G6 and G8 a lot too). I hope the Camaro sells well. I love the new styling. The Mustang is unusually nice too. Want to try out the Challenger too. I am glad to see some personality back in US cars.
I agree that the Challenger is big. Keep in mind it sits on the same platform as the Charger (which is the same as the Intrepid). The reason they were able to bring the Challenger to market so fast after the unveiling of the prototype at the car shows was the fact it shares the same interior, frame and power train.
I saw a black camaro with black wheels the other day, I have to admit it looked good. The V6 does however have some inflated numbers...they may advertise it as 300 at the fly wheel, but trap speeds indicate its not a 300hp car. They are trapping mid to low 90mph range, which is weak. It's also a high revving car, so to get into its power band you have to really be in it. Changing out the stock gear will help some one, but the car defintley could benefit from a proper tune.
