Favorite Bourbon

I haven't read all 114 pages of this fine old thread, but just posted in the "What Are You Drinking" thread and though I'd throw it in here as well.

Peerless Bourbon - first year of release - just picked it up in Loo'ville, KY. Got a bottle of their Rye last year, and another one this year - but it's their Bourbon I crave. I like Bulleit, Makers, Knob Creek, as well. As someone mentioned very early in the thread - my favorite is the one you are buying me.

Went on the Peerless tour for the second time - helluva interesting story behind their distillery. I'd consider them a "Craft Distiller" - they're operating on permit DSP-KY 50 (Distilled Spirits Plant, Kentucky, #50) that was originally obtained by a great-grandfather of today's ownership. Check the permit numbers on some of your favorites, Bulleit is 20026, Angel's Envy is 20022. Not saying that makes any difference in quality - just looking at the "heritage". Peerless was out of existence for YEARS, but was able to get the old permit number reestablished. Like I said - interesting story.

I spotted the Barrel Proof Peerless at a nearby liquor store. I'm curious, but $127 a fifth would blow my Christmas bourbon budget in one shot!

On Saturday night I poured myself a healthy glass of Old Weller Antique, one of my favorite bourbons. Too bad it has disappeared in my area. Followed it up with some Woodford, which held up quite well by comparison. After dinner and the obligatory bottle of wine, I capped off the evening with some Macallan 12, not my best decision ever but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Just another habit. Added a bottle of WT Rare Breed yesterday.

It's OK but I like the Russell's Reserve better of the kin.

My "Mom & Pop" liquor store finally got this in. The owner was supposed to get it in the fall but it didn't happen. Mistake maybe?

Lucky me on the 1910.
