Had some Elmer T Lee tonight...What a great bourbon.... so sad to see it so hard to get

If you're a Booker's fan, try Knob Creek Single Barrel. From the same distillery (Jim Beam), nearly the same ABV (60% vs ~64%), and way cheaper. It's quite a rich, flavorful pour.

yep, because they are not aged the same way, they are filtered through charred wood blocks instead of in a barrel. Or so I’ve seen on YT that’s why they call it a “Tennessee whiskey”

Picked up some scotch and a bottle of bourbon to try out, I think I’ll try one of the scotches this evening.

Anyone out there scoring any Elmer T Lee? It has shown up here in VA, but I cannot seem to snag a bottle.

I don’t drink a lot of whiskey in the summer, having moved on to rum but I did break out the bourbon for the nieces and nephews over the July 4th weekend while sitting around the fire pit after the kiddies were put to sleep. I brought out the Four Roses Single Barrel, Eagle Rare and the Larceny. I went with the Eagle Rare. One Glencairne glass bit the dust during cleanup, but no shock considering we went through 6 bottles of Rose with dinner.

Four Roses At 100 proof, it is surprisingly smooth. Good choice!

I agree and a great value at $45 a bottle in my neck of the woods.

I know it's around here because a couple bars up the road usually have it on the top shelf, but I've never seen/caught a bottle on the retail shelves.
