Favorite Bourbon

I have been mistaken for someone else many times. But...

High School principals are not licensed to sell cases of whiskey. You need a distributor's license to do that.

Nail him! ! !

I stopped into a good liquor store in the city the other day & picked up 2 bottles of Weller 12 (750ml) for $22. Not bad for NYC prices, I also grabbed a Four Roses Yellow label for $19 & treated myself to a bottle of Angel's Envy @ $46. Brown liquor season is in full swing here in the Northeast!

Sounds like he is only a "subject of interest" in the investigation. That could mean anything from they have no solid evidence, to he is coming in with his Attorney to work something out....and possibly recover the houch. Time will tell. If he does have it, at much risk to myself...I will volunteer to let him leave it off at my house, where the authorities can pick it up in a few days.:smoke:

Last night I had a glass of Four Roses "Secretariat", (on somebody else's dime) and it was mighty tasty! Really smooth but way out of my price range.

Picked up some Weller 12 out here on the left coast. They were out of the Old Weller 107.:tears: Oh well.

Whoo, Momma! It has been a long, hot, sweaty, dusty day. I started by taking my hand sledge and breaking the (poorly installed) tiles in my breakfast room/kitchen/hall/first floor bath. I took particular joy in that the tiles had cracked and the grout was popping out everywhere.

So now there is no tile anywhere. And I sat down with some Weller Antique 107 listening to music in the listening room.

This stuff takes my head off but mellows as I sip it.

It could become my go to for special occasions.

I'm going to go on safari for other Weller jewels.

I like it with a couple of ice cubes so it doesn't take the enamel off of my teeth.
Damn fine bourbon!!

just got a bottle of weller 12 - have yet to compare it to woodford reserve. Should be fun!

You (or at least I) will find the Weller the better and usually more affordable choice. I recently bought a bottle of the woodford, as an old distiller told me to try it if I wanted a notion of what "tails" taste like. In the spirit run on a pot still making bourbon, the "heads" or the first stuff, is left out, as that is where bad taste/slightly poisonous poop is. The hearts are retained, with cuts made into smaller containers, constantly sniffing and tasting. Towards the end, the "tails" are had. Many times, some of the taste elements are concentrated in the tails, so judicious blending MAY improve flavor...it may not, but still increase yields. Of course all this happened in New Zealand, where such activities are legal...

Enjoy the Weller12 while you can get it. I have a theory that says it isnt long for this earth, and if I am wrong here, I am dam glad to so this time!

I've always liked Knob Creek and Bulliet Bourbon as well as Wild Turkey 101 but I've been really enjoying Bulliet Rye lately both in an Old Fashioned and OTR.

I know it's technically not bourbon but well worth a try and at $20 a bottle at Trader Joe's a great deal.

Enjoy

Tonight some Jefferson's Reserve Very Old, Very Small Batch. This is quite different than what I've had so far, but it's up there with some of the best I've had also. Definitely worth trying out.

I'd love to afford some Jefferson's Reserve. Maybe in a couple of weeks. I'm supposed to be contacted for a temp job again.

I just came back from the fancy pancy liquor store. They had 1/10s of Devil's Cut. It is strong! A real woody flavor but not as nice as Weller 107. Much the same kick but more raw.
