Favorite Bourbon

I'd love to afford some Jefferson's Reserve. Maybe in a couple of weeks. I'm supposed to be contacted for a temp job again.

I just came back from the fancy pancy liquor store. They had 1/10s of Devil's Cut. It is strong! A real woody flavor but not as nice as Weller 107. Much the same kick but more raw.

I've had the Devil's Cut, it's not bad for the price, but I would not buy it again. Like you said, raw, alittle too wood/oak for me. Never had any Weller, will have to look into that one.

There is Wyoming Whisky, Steve Nally is the Master Distiller They have just started the release of their Bourbon so you can get in on the ground floor of this all Wyoming spirit. I have not yet found any to try...

Already, Wyoming Whiskey is winning over some discerning aficionados.

“I didn’t know what to expect, but I’m pleasantly surprised,” said Dennie Hammer, a whiskey enthusiast who tried Wyoming Whiskey for the first time Saturday.

Hammer is the organizer of an informal whiskey tasting club of about two dozen devotees in Cody, Wyo. The group samples premium and exotic bourbons and Scotches from around the world.

“The aroma is very fresh and well-rounded,” he said. “The nose came across like warm, fresh-baked bread. I can smell the corn, and there is a floral element with a little oak and some cinnamon and caramel.”

Hammer said the overall effect was a “very, very good bourbon that I will drink at home.”

Bourbon journalist Mark Gillespie, a contributor to Whisky Magazine and host of the WhiskyCast podcast, gave Wyoming Whiskey high marks, praising what he said were flavors and aromas of wheat bread, orange peel, oak, honey and vanilla.

“It is one of the best bourbons I’ve ever tasted, and I’m scoring Wyoming Whiskey a 95″ out of 100 points, Gillespie told listeners of his podcast, recorded Saturday from Kirby.

I know it's boring but Ive tryed them all and my favorite has to be Jim beam. White label the 7 or 8 year I think. I swear I'd put it in my cornflakes but the ol lady would piss a hampster...

Not Pappy, but I am liking a bottle of Black Maple Hill I bought on a whim the other day more and more.

Traveled to Nashville to visit a store that usually has some Pappy in a back room for discriminating customers. I was informed I had to be on her list...While buying a bottle of Hirsch, she slipped I could get a special bottle from Black Maple Hill, but only if I bought the Hirsch as well!

My last ditch effort is a little store in southern Illinois, but I just hate going to Illinois. Maybe if I call them they will ship...I tip good.

Good Heavens,

Russellc

I had some High West bourbon the other night, nice but I don't think I will be buying any bottles of it.

I just came back from Kelly Services going through the hiring process for another temp job at Kimberly-Clark (again). I'm a Kelly Girl! ! ! ???

I am guessing but it might be 5:00 PM in England now.

I'm employed again, so I am sipping some Woodford Reserve. I really like this stuff!

........

Wasatch, just checked the label, it looks like I was drinking their Rendezvous Rye. I was a couple deep by then, I could only read one of the labels which was the Double Rye so I asked for the "other" one. No wonder I wasn't wild about it, as I prefer Wheaters to Rye based bourbons. All in all it was good whiskey.

Oh yeah, it's really good, a little bit too expensive I think. I've had the Double Rye, the Rocky Mountain Rye 21 Yr. Old, and Son Of Bourye.

Russellc: That Black Maple Hill is a quite good smooth bourbon. One day if you can find it try the Gold, it`s Heavenly!

I bought myself a Christmas gift, a 7.5l Bottle of Knob Creek. Saturday I came down with something, cough, congestion and a very sore throat. Sunday I had an infection in my lungs.

I broke out the Knob Creek to help the throat. 100 proof helps as an analgesic, too!

I went back to work today, I contracted this at work. And now I'm relaxing with another killer drink.

YMMV, don't try this at home unless you are an old guy.
