Favorite Bourbon

I've never tried the bookers but very much enjoy the Four Roses Small Batch. Let us know (well me at least) what you think of it

Pete

Last night a couple of Weller Antiques, neat. I am starting to prefer most of my bourbon this way. The wife had something to do after work so there was no adult supervision.

I love a good bourbon as my handle suggests. Neat is the only way to pour it IMHO. Away from home on a conference, but talking to a colleague last night made me want a nice pour of Very Old Barton Bottled in Bond (VOB BiB). It's great stuff if you can find it (and cheap). I'm a big fan of 4R and OWA that you guys are drinking as well.

Cheers,
Roger

96 proof VOB has become my 'house bourbon', it's so good. We don't get the VOB/BIB/100 proof down here, so I can only imagine what a nice pour that is!

I used to drink Southern Comfort straight out of the bottle. Got so sick one time I vowed to never drink that blasted liqueur again. Twenty six years later I'm still holding true to that vow.

I think this is a right of passage as I have the same story. Anyone like bulliet?

Kirin owns Four Rose already.
Barney

Kirin has done a great job with bringing back 4R (in no small part thanks to Jim Rutledge). The Japanese really like very aged, very oaky bourbon. I wonder if we'll see a new extra aged product from Beam with this acquisition. They certainly produce enough for some extended aging.

I like my whiskey without any junk in it, but yeah, that would have to be cut. 90 proof swill I can handle...128...?!
It's said Booker use to steal his wife's wine bottles to bottle special batches of bourbon for himself, hence the wine "shaped" bottle you can buy from the liquor store.

Led Zep and 15 year old Pappy Van Winkle sounds like a winner to me. I'll have ta go cry in my Basil Hayden's...:D We can't even get any Pappy's out here.:tears:

I got lucky.....put my name on a waiting list and finally got the call!! From what I understand it's only released a couple times a year....

Another one I might suggest is the Elijah Craig 21 yr. old, very good bourbon. And in a pinch the 12 yr old is still pretty good!!

Having great trust in PM in all things Bourbon and music I bought a small bottle of VOB when I bought some of my house Bourbon, Ezra Brooks.

I poured the same amount of each into two old fashion glasses and the EB looked like weak urine in comparison. Then added water to both.

The VOB diluted was still darker than the undiluted EB.

The EB made me shiver a little, the VOB didn't. The VOB was smoother. So I have found an every day Bourbon to replace EB.

Another excellent every day bourbon would be Evan Williams Black.
