Favorite Bourbon

A few years ago I toured the Wild Turkey distillery near Lexington, Ky.

What I remember most was the wonderful aroma from those aging oak casks.

In the sampling room they were pushing the honey blend which was new on the market.

If you're traveling through Ky. the bourbon trail tours are well worth the time.

I'll have to check out Wild Turkey at Thanksgiving, if there is time.

I ran out of Weller 90 proof yesterday. I made a loop to the Weller store today.

No Weller 12 yet. But I joined their mailing list. It is supposed to announce Weller 12 when it arrives.

Pappy Lotto

I debated on posting this over the last few days, but figured you guys should know. This pic is of the Pappy Lottery this past Sunday (11/9/14) at a prominent liquor store in Louisville who supposedly got the largest supply. It's a little dark, but the entire parking lot was full just to get raffle tickets to see who had the privilege to buy a bottle. I believe the rye, 10, 12, 15, 20 and possibly 23 year were available. Not sure of the quantities. :tears:

I'll tell you what; I like a great bourbon as much as anybody, but I'm not willing to jump through hoops like that no matter how good it might be.

I hear ya! That pic was taken by a buddy of mine who is the store manager. It's gotten a little crazy around here since the bourbon heist.

I started drinking 10/107* back in the early eighties. Remember the Christmas Bottles they produced. Never had a problem getting a bottle till a few years ago. It's stupid now.

My son's both and my friends all got turned on the the juice by me many years ago. Before it was cool. Hate that I now have to parcel out the RIP but them the facts! Weller's getting just as bad. So I'm keeping it a secret now on what I'm liking!

Met the wholesale rep at High Times today and he's saying after the New Year for the 12. Oh well.

Picked up a bottle of Larceny 92 proof.
