We've taken it out on three occasions, just for a drive on a country road, mind you this is Idaho in the summer which gets into the high 90s temp-wise. It overheated each time. There are countless modern solutions to this, without ruining originality. Easy for me to say, this car is worth up to $250K on the high side and he is reluctant to change a thing.

Some folks just don't enjoy their vintage cars, they store them for viewing and gathering trophies.

It's funny, even the folks at Pebble Beach have come to realize that if you can't drive them, they aren't trophy worthy. You have to take the car on a drive all the show participants take down to Big Sur or you're not eligible for awards like Best in Show.

Which seems to be incorrect based on the grill opening shape when I checked the Healey. Google image search came back with “This is a 1939 Bentley 4.25 Litre 'Embiricos' Coupe recreation, specifically the one featuring license plate FLK 966”. They do have similar looks, like the 50s BMW Baroque Angels, the 501 and 502. Search the model and get auction info, one with 60-some pictures to learn more and learn a price of $671,000 in 2017. Nice car for sure.

I almost checked out from sepsis. My BP was 30/6 when they inserted a central line through my neck into my heart, tipped the table head down and pumped in 3 antibiotics at the same time. I went home the next day.
I lived in no small part thanks to my wife’s driving. That girl can drive, always has since cutting her teeth in her mom’s ‘70 Dart Swinger in HS. I nicknamed her “Parnelli” for a reason. She picked me up at work and got me to Hoag in record time. Probably about half the normal 35 minutes. The ER doc told her we made the right call. I wouldn’t have made it at the crappy little hospital by my office.

Sadly I’m reminded Petty, Tom, not Kyle or Richard, was also too busy to go to the doctor.

My brother almost died from sepsis after his prostate surgery.
He told me he remembers them closing the ambulance doors when he went to the hospital, but after that, nothing. Was being treated at Stanford Med center for his cancer as they had done his lung cancer surgery about 7 yrs ago. It's been a long recovery as he's been on chemo for the prostate stuff and it almost killed him by giving him another heart attack. Only has one more day of the chemo left and he can't wait to start feeling better.
