I hate to be this guy. But referring to multiple records as "vinyls"? I understand that this is becoming commonplace, but man it's like nails on a chalkboard.

There is a difference between referring to the medium as "vinyl" (such as "I have that album on vinyl") and twisting it into a new noun.

I have an idiot friend, who fancies himself a "hipster". I know...total douche, right? Anyways...after decades of referring to the vinyl medium as records, he started calling them "vinyls". So I started referring to his CD's as "polycarbonates". That left him somewhat confused, but I think I made my point.

I feel exactly the same way regarding incorrectly referring to digital audio discs as CDs.

The correct term is DAD, and it should be universally changed to DAD. DAD is digital audio disc, just as DVD is digital video disc. It makes a whole lot more sense than CD.
