Why so many cracked glass out there?

The last 2105(?) I worked on was under a bed for many years and probably had many things shoved under there with it, the result broken glass. Fortunately McIntosh had one in stock!

Why so many cracked glass out there?

Because some genius thought "Hey let's hang glass faces on audio equipment. What could possibly go wrong with that?"

I have a 2102 that is what, seventy pounds or more? Huge transformers in the back, all glass front. Every time I bring in the engine hoist to move it, I am sweating bullets.
