Ok, there's a Marantz in there too

Taken tonight with a 4 second shutter - I'll try again tomorrow - with a shorter shutter setting - white was starting to bleed through.

haha, Thanks, Yammie!

I can't even remember now why I adopted that slogan - think there was some threads about "elite" audio snobs, or something like that a while ago, of which I definitely am not a member.

And the avatar - yeah, it's low fi, but the GE Show N Tell was the very first audio device I ever owned, as a wee lad of 5 or 6. I did use it for slide shows, but most of the time I used it to play 45s in glorious small-speaker plastic cabinet mono.

It is a cute little unit.

I don't own one any more - that photo is just an image I culled off the web.

I wonder what one would sound like to my ears more than 40 years later? Probably pretty piss poor - but it seemed great when I was a kid. One of my favorite slide shows was Poe's "Fall of the House of Usher" - I usually couldn't make it all the way through - it seemed VERY scary when I was 6-7 years old.

Here's one "in action" playing a show. Think of it as my first system - at night. Boy, does that bring back memories. Guess it was kinda 'high tech' back in 1964. :)

That is so cool. My dad told me about the Craig R2R he had when he was a kid. This kinda reminds me of that. If you want, we can continue the conversation in PM form, 'cause we're kinda getting off-topic.:D

A couple of mine at night. First is SAE "00" systems, second is SAE "01" systems.

Phaedrus -- dude, you must dim the neighbors lights when you fire that baby up!

Those nixie SAEs are very cool, BTW -- I was briefly obsessed with trying to buy one a while back. Seems that I am too cheap, though. :D

Yeah, the local electric utility sends me Christmas cards.

The Mk VI/VIB are very neat, but prices have been run up so much they're probably only of interest to collectors now. I imagine you can get comparable (or better) tuners at a much lower price point. Had to have a couple for my collection, though.

'Course it would be a bit better if the meters were about 2/3 scale....

The pics of the Mac stuff look pretty nice in the dark.
