When's that from, late-sixtees? VERY-early SS hi-fi. I like the console-type tuner section. I bet it sounds good. I would think that just about anything well-built from that era would sound good.

For a second there I thought I was looking at a pre-power component stack from 1967.

By the way, if I had to choose, I'd take the Rotel RX-1603 ("They don't call me 'Big' for nuttin'!).

How about the Hallicrafters SX-110 Shortwave receiver?

It is vintage, a receiver and good looking. Something about those old big SW receivers with all the knobs, buttons and dials, lots of dials. No blue dial lights and wood case though, but a looks that mean business. The main problem with the one I had was it took half an hour for the tubes to heat up to hold frequency and not drift.

For regular vintage stereo receivers, I like my Pioneer SX-1010, one of best looking and first 100 wpc to really catch on and be copied. Just one sweet receiver.

here is a pic of my 2 beasts.......the sr2004 works perfectly. the sx1280 is undergoing test..........it is playing and tuning....just minor sniggles.....

I am going to paint the top metal cover, heatsinks and trafo cover....polish up the wood cover.....should be good......

May sound good but, the MCS does not get my vote. Looks like the result of result of a drunken night with the marketing committee and some venders with excess stock of controls, buttons and switches.

Personally, I’ve always liked the look of the high end Sansui G series receivers. Only japanese brand that I know of that went for symmetry and pulled it off, even on their high end gear.
