greatest rock frontman ever.

DLR was a great frontman. I saw the real Van Halen 6 times.

Another favorite of mine was Freddie Mercury.

And Ian Anderson.

And Bon Scott.

David Lee Roth was a great showman . Just enuff talent with a whole lot of Chutzpah .

Ian Anderson was great as well .

Ozzy was good back in the old days. Before he turned into a geezer.

A few more of my favorites....

Rob Halford.

Alice Cooper.

Billy Gibbons.

And that guy, from that one band.

Bruce Dickinson.

Agreed

In my mind, it'd have to be a 2 way tie between Roger Daltrey and Robert Plant. Mercury, Jagger, Morrison et al are all in the top 10 though.

Agreed. However, Modern day= Trey Anastasio of PHISH!

Yes its known I'm crazy for PHISH but you'd be hard pressed to find a more popular modern day front man from any genre anywhere!

My pick from previous posts would have to be Jim Morrison with Freddy Mercury as a close second.

Absolutely never no way David Lee Roth! IMHO

Not David Lee Roth, IMHO he's a puke. Saw VH in Vancouver on their Diver Down tour, there was a small narrow stage that came off the main stage and went about 20 feet or so into the crowd. Mid song DLR falls on his ass, quits singing and starts grabbing his leg. He was wearing knee high moccasins with long tassles and he accused a guy in the crowd of grabbing his laces and yanking them tight around his leg. Concert stops, roadies come out and deal with his laces and after all was said and done DLR gets up walks over to the guy he accused of grabbing his laces and says to the guy " Just for that, right after the show, I'm gonna F%*k your girlfriend". Yup class act that piece of garbage.:(

My vote goes to Ronnie Van Zandt.

Prob lots of disagreements, but gotta rep my band:

Although Geddy was the sole "singer", I wouldn't call him a "front-man". The boys always played it pretty equal all around. Helped keep them "grounded in reality" and the band together.

Who wants a "prima donna front-man" anyways?

They usually get so full of themselves they go off high and right in a solo act that destroys the band that help them make their bones in the first place.

Sure, Geddy did a solo album, but that was after Peart's personal tragedy and they thought RUSH was not coming back from Peart's departure.

There's a reason there was a "RUSH 40" tour and so few other bands get there. If Peart hadn't passed (RIP), I wouldn't have bet against them making one push push on an "R50" tour.

Sore, beaten, sick and bodies failing, they always seemed to pull it together somehow for a memory making performance.

Professionals. All the way around.

So... did he?

I’ve never been crazy about all the running and jumping around when they play live, but it is Mick Jagger, by a long way.

Really? Making fun of someone because of a physical feature they have no control over?

What are you? 12 years old?

Go back to grade school until you grow up a bit more.

Ged can always comfort himself with his stacks of millions and all those gold and platinum records.

Enjoy sitting in your double wide and eating kraft dinner.
