DOES YOUR STEREO DO IT'S JOB?

Mine does the job but it's not where I want it to be. The sound quality meets my requirements but I'm searching for a modern integrated amp to replace my Yamaha A-S301. I'm not a fan of how it looks. But most of the other affordable modern equipment looks kind of boring too.

For me most of the time its the recording engineers and producers not doing their jobs. The vinyl quality that is chosen for making the Lp's and the compromises companies have to make in order to stream music using the minimum amount of bits also bugs me. There are lot of companies making great speakers and components but who can afford over $25,000 or half that amount for electronics or a pair of speakers. Very few. I just bought a new turntable at half the previous list price and its still over 20 times what I paid for my TD 125 with SME Arm back in the very late 60's. With all we know today pricing has become ridiculous in order to get the level of performance we are looking for. I can remember paying less that 160 dollars for a V-15 MK V MR. Why do we have to pay $1000+ to get better sound and still the cartridges can't track with the Shure. Yes Digital could be the answer to all our issues but if one company isn't throwing road blocks, the federal Gov't is, and then manufacturers are more interested in over paying their CEO . Everyone one wants instant gratification, so the prices keep escalating. I like Magicos diamond coated tweeter very much but the S5 can't handle the power I need for the dynamics I want so that means and S7. Why do I have to pay 130, 000 dollars to replace my current HT speakers that do the job almost perfectly, that I paid less than 5000 dollars for in the 70's and 80's. Then too I will have to spend another $18000, less trade in for pre-owned front channel 1200 watt amplifiers. When I use 200 watt amps now.

I always liked McIntosh equipment I worked there for a short time and about 10 years ago bought a Mx113 preamp tuner off ebay and I just retired and bought a new Mc152 been a lot of years but I finally got a system I'm happy withIMG_20201008_053809637~2.jpg

I'm very satisfied with my system. I sit and listen and think even if i hit the lottery I probably wouldn't change anything. The things I think about now are little tweaks. I wonder will different feet on my table be better, how will a bypass cap on my tweeter sound things like that. So yeah I'm quite happy.

Yes.:)

Here in "cleaning-fase" just after I bought it. The tuningpart is not working but that's no problem for me.

The tuner has changed in the meanwhile but the receiver is doing his job almost daily since 2015.

When I heard Watermelon Man thru my system, I about soiled myself. Things were dialed in.

I've been listening to operatic Arias's all day.
My Luxman R-117 preformed flawlessy. My Polk Audio LSiM 707s sound fantastic.
It would take a hell of amount of money to make any improvement over this basic system.

I have three and the answer is yes, yes and yes.

PS: If they did not, I would not have them.

Is it doing it's job?
Yes. And better than I yet heard elsewhere.
Could it be better?
Yes, and I'll be chasing the dragon until I'm unable. It's fun.

I've always been a low dollar guy, never had anything really expensive or high grade.
Now my main system is a HH Scott 390 R receiver,825 Z eq,Pro 100 B speakers and could not be happier.
Close your eyes and the music is coming from all around, for the first time in my life I can tell the difference between bass guitar notes(the notes are not sounding the same) and I can hear vocalist's take breaths when singing.
No sub woofer needed, plenty of quality bass,I'll never use the loudness switch on the receiver again!
Rich mid range,crisp pleasing highs.
Has the ability to get much louder then I need and stays crystal clear.
I'm very happy!

This is where I am at musically after twenty years at this.Yamaha RXZ9 RXV1 Cerwin Vega DX9-D9-M80-317P.Its all about power and dynamics with killer rock at will.Of course there are other systems but these are my go to setups.Kills me everytime.

How did Super Scope get the pink lighting to begin with? Did just adding blue LED's do the trick? Did they use a colored vellum paper to get that original pink color? I like the blue. I never understood the color they chose.
