Most underated classic rock lp's

Tempest s/t

Hawkwind ~ "In Search of Space" & "Space Ritual"

Guru Guru ~ "Kanguru"

Amon Düül II ~ Tanz der Lemminge (Dance of the Lemmings)

Great thread! Currently listening to RM 'Stranded' which I'd never heard. So much music, so little time...
Not exactly rock, but nobody knows exactly what to call them;
Ozark Mountain Daredevils - Car Over the Lake
Ozark Mountain Daredevils - Men From Earth
O'kanes - Tired of the Running

I didn't see some of these:

White Witch (both albums)
Elf (kind of honky tonk southern rock)
UFO
J.Geils band (Full house, Southside Shuffle)
Bad Company
Spooky Tooth (You broke my heart so I busted your jaw)
Jimi Hendrix
Molly Hatchett
Mountain
Robin Trower
Ten Years After
anyone mention Uriah Heep?

I see Hawkwind mentioned (said right on the cover best listened to when tripping).LOL
Note:
There I edited this post so I don't look so dumb.

Jimi Hendrix is not exactly underrated...

I didn't see some of these:
Woodstock
White Witch (both albums)
Elf (kind of honky tonk southern rock)
UFO
J.Geils band (Full house, Southside Shuffle)
Bad Company
Any Aerosmith
Any Chicago
Any Kansas
Black Sabbath
Spooky Tooth (You broke my heart so I busted your jaw)
Any Jimi Hendrix you name
Molly Hatchett
Mountain
Robin Trower
Ten Years After

Strawbs - Ghosts
Al Stewart - Modern Times
Good Rats - Rat City in Blue

It seems inevitable that the following submission is forthcoming from someone who believes these are underrated:

"Can't believe no one has added these...
Beatles - The White Album
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
Led Zeppelin 1
Neil Young - After the Gold Rush
Pink Floyd - Meddle
Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
The Doors
The Clash - London Calling
Rush - 2112
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust"

Might as well add anything Elvis :D

I should clarify that as some of his work was underrated. That is what this thread is about right? Underrated LP's? I hope.
After I posted I realized my mistakes. I promise to be more careful with my selections in the future.
Take it easy on me, I'm taking drugs right now. Got a bum knee and bad back. Norco and couple shots doesn't make you smart or that lucid at times. :screwy:

Manfred Mann's Earth Band's "Solar Fire" & "Get Your Rocks Off" lp's

The Litter, "Emerge" lp

Another vote for the Dust s/t lp

Wow, I'm amazed somebody else mentioned "Emerge". It usually seems I am the only person in the world to ever have heard it!

Back when it came out, I used to have to fight with my friends to even get it on a turntable. They just couldn't understand what a great album it is.

The culmination of sixties hard rock evolution.

The best band, ever, out of Minneapolis, in my opinion. Prince sucks by comparison.

Their two earlier albums, "Distortions" and $100 Dollar Fine" are also worth getting.

It's a great lp all the way through! I'll have to check out the other lp's by Litter. Action Woman is a killer tune off of "Distortions" for sure! :thmbsp:

Don't worry about it. There are other submissions equally questionable for the "underrated" category.

It is actually more important to get great rock mentioned in this thread than to worry about whether it fits certain criteria or not.

Under-rated classic rock - meaning not overplayed monster million sellers.

Greg Allman - Laid Back

New Riders of the Purple Sage - Gypsy Cowboy

David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name

John Mayall - Turning Point

Hot Tuna - Burgers

King Crimson - Red

If you are looking for bigger names:

Elton John - Tumbleweed Connection (overlooked gem)

Jethro Tull - Stand Up (not too much FM overkill)

Genesis - Selling England By the Pound (Prog rock heaven)

Cheers, Bob

Yeah, "Distortions" particularly. Blistering covers of the hits of the day. "Whatcha Gonna Do About It", "I'm So Glad", "A Legal Matter", "I'm a Man" etc.
