Do you carry a Pocket knife ?

Found my Buck 442U buried in a drawer. Lots of people say its not the greatest, but I love it. Its super light weight and holds a great edge. Its in my pocket now.

I used to carry a Buck 110 in my back pocket all the time.. Wish Buck would have had that knife back then... HArd to beat any knife that has a Buck blade in it.

I have a Buck 112 that has a plastic handle on it that's pretty nice and light, but still bulky... I've gotten to where it has to have a clip on the side to I can clip it inside my pocket or I won't carry it..

I have carried a Swiss Army "Executive" for the last 35 years. It went flown to Kyoto, Cairns and Honolulu (twice) with me. Then 9/11 and I have had to pack it.

I carry a Lennox folding clip knife that has replaceable razor blades. The gold edge blades last about 3 times longer than the standard ones. I've never been able to sharpen a knife, so it works for me.

This is my Sheffield Utility knife.. OK.. not mine.. I stole the picture. but the exact same... I was just using it this weekend for cutting floor tiles..

A really nice feel in the hand, and good and heavy. Really nice rosewood handles too. I carry it every blue moon, but it's kinda big and bulky for daily carry...

My last flight, as I waited in the screening line, I realized I had one of my favorite Pumas in my pocket. I saw a place that might go un-noticed in the buffer zone between security zones, and I put it in the "out of the way" location just before the I got to the x-ray machines. I was able to retrieve it the next day.

Exactly. Drop it in a potted plant. Pick it up on the return trip.

Maybe hard to beat, but not unbeatable, LOL. The toughest blade I've ever run across is some old Russian knife. I found this one in a tray of tools in a "good junk" store. I've abused the heck out of it, but it just keeps on keepin' on.

Mine is very small. I have had to ship it home from Portland's (OR) airport. They offer a $10 mail service. That is considerate.

I was given a smal penknife that looks like a key 20 years ago, it's on my keyring now and it goes through airport security unnoticed. It's small but pretty sharp and has been useful on occasion.

I used to always use a stick of RAM as a keyfob on my keyring. I also would sharpen one edge of it... Great for opening boxes, and you just never know, in case of a self defence emergency... Those would actually hold an edge fairly well considering what it is..

I put that thing through so many airport scanners.. I flew pretty frequently after 9/11, and it was just as dangerous and maybe even more dangerous than a box cutter, since the edge was a lot longer than a razor blade on a box cutter..

Not one time was I questioned about it, or was it even looked at.

Never fear the weapon.. fear the man that knows how to make them from every day objects and use them... And fear the people that are so neive..

I still have my second Boy Scout Ulster knife with the white bone handle. I gave the original brown handled one I had to my little brother when he joined the Scouts. That was when a knife was still a knife, right down to the carbon steel blades!

Okay! I'm in: The small lockback made in Pakistan is the at work loaner knife. The black Swiss army knife is in my pocket at work knife. The blue Swiss army knife replaces a Yep! also gave one up at airport. Had it on keychain. The little white 1984 LA marathon was keychain knife before. The brown foldout is made by Sheffield the weekender out and about. The black handled lockback is a Case Blackhorn, Bradford Pa. Lived in pocket at work Long Beach Shipyard. Thought I had lost it somewhere, replaced with Buck 112. The Schrade Uncle Henry picked up at yardsale last summer.

Time to jump start this thread again. Let’s see what your EDC is. For the past many months, I’ve been carrying a Hogue Deka. It only weighs around
2.5oz. Some say that makes it fragile. I’m here to tell you not a chance. I have beat the living daylights out of this knife for the past 4-5 months and it just keeps coming back for more. There you have it let’s see yours even if it’s not a carry let’s see your favorite knife/knives.

My every day user is a Buck 377 right now -had been using a kershaw Barge (model #1945) knife for about three months prior to that -a really practical design that does the work well and even includes a pry function built into it's handle.

When living in the rural West, carried a blade pretty much all the time. Seems like there was always the need for one for this or that for being in the bush.

However, living now in the urban East, no real reason to sport one. Have one in the glove box, as I can appreciate and have used it several times for various things that need cutting. I can see the need for one if in an accident, like a roll over, and the safety belt is twisted/jammed, and you have to get out quickly!

Folding knives (with a lock) were my favs, but had to be of a well-made brand...and SHARP!
