Very nice looking setup with extra clean functionality. As I was looking at it I thought to myself, "that looks Swedish or Scandinavian...." Then I read down a few more posts....

Nothing too fancy compared to most of you guys. Marantz 2238B driving Akai SW-175's, with preamp outs going to a Sansui 5000A driving Canton Quinto 520's. It's enough to keep me happy and annoy the wife :D.

Bronco- That's perfect! Really smooth setup. I see you must have your computer hooked to your TV screen. It has the new "windows" program on it! :lmao::lmao:

This is my living room as of today....I kicked the Coral coaxes out of their homes and put the EV12trxb's in their place and I am extremely happy with the results...tweeter/mids closer to ear level, more bass....

pre= you can see 2 Pilot SP-210's next to the EL84 SA-232, Next to the Sony PS-2250 with Adcom high output cart...CDP is some Walmart special Panasonic...

Ship above is mighty H.M.S. Queen Mary...

Nothing in the living room but a 27" Sony Trinitron and an old Panasonic VHS player. All of the good stuff is in the family room.

5.1 Home Theater
Yamaha RX-V800 A/V receiver
Yamaha DVD-C996 DVD/CD 5-disc player
Sony 36" Trinitron Wega flat screen tube TV
Advent 4002 (pair) Front
Advent/1 (pair) Front
Polk RT800i Towers (pair) Rear
Polk CS400i Center Channel
Polk PSW450 Powered Sub
Scientific Atlanta DVR cable box
and... the 2 channel system detailed in my signature.
Both sytems are plugged into the Furman Elite-15 DMi power conditioner, which doubles as a $400 night light. :boring:

That's a very, very cool CD shelf !! Both for the look and for the audio benefit (some sound dispersal). :smoke:

***
My own system....

Pioneer QX-949, Dual 1019, Denon DCD-3520, Pioneer RG-2 (Dynamic expander), Pioneer SR-202 (reverb), Pioneer SR-303 (echo), Pioneer SG-9500 (EQ)

4 Wharfedal 9.1 speakers, 4 Boston accoustics CR95 speakers, 1 Mirage Omni S10 sub.

And, most importantly, no T.V. ... in fact, there's not a single T.V. in the house

Changes almost daily....

but, currently, I run 2 linked audio systems and a separate secondary home theater system, along with whatever gear I'm testing/auditioning at the time.

Audio:

Nothing fancy Kenwood digital tuner
Sony PS-X600 TT
Rega P2(currently disconnected)
Cambridge Audio Azur CD player courtesy of AK
all running into...

Yamaha C-4 preamp

In turn the C-4 runs it's two outputs into..

Yamaha M-80 for high frequency output
Bose 1801 for low frequency output into...

Infinity RSIIb's..:thmbsp:

The C-4 also runs signal via tape out into..

modded/upgraded Bottlehead FP II, using 2 cleartop RCA 12AU7's into...
Custom built "Green Monster" amp, using 2 Mullard 12AU7's and 4 RCA 6L6GC's running...

1976 vintage K-horns....:thmbsp:

I like being able to switch from vacuum power to sand power at the turn of a knob, and the dichotomy of 60 WPC into 104 db/W/M speaker versus 500 WPC into 86(?) db/w/m speakers makes me smile. The two setup are so different, but both extremely pleasing at least to my aged ears....:music:

The HT setup is nothing fancy, with an old school Kenwood KR-X1000 running...gulp...my wife's favorite speakers, Bose cube and subwoofer. :nono:
(The main HT rig is upstairs....):thmbsp:

Im lucky enough to live within it's low power transmitter's range; about one mile below Heather Highlands in San Carlos, where magic sounds fill the ether.

This single station inspired me to build my rig.

I have set up a surround system in my living room to include 10 speakers, 5 amps and a powered Yamaha sub-woofer being decoded off a Yamaha A-1 DSP. I have a Yamaha AX-450 amplifier pushing two NS500M's in parallel for a dual center channnel effect and they are raised up 8 feet off the floor and pointed towards the sweet spot of my listening room from each respective corner.

I run my front channels off two sets of speakers fed by two SAE A102 amplifiers from a SAE P102 preamp. The speakers are arranged in a box-like arrangement to surround the room's sweet spot and include my HPM-1100's in the front, 15" off the ground and 10 feet away in each corner. The front channel "box" is completed with a pair of HPM-100's/200watt just behind and 8 feet to each side, 20" off the floor.

For rear speakers I use another pair of HPM-100's/200 watt fed off a Sansui AU-717 amplifier and are placed approximately 15 feet behind the sweet spot and to each side, 24" off the floor.

The rear center channel is fed from the DSP in parallel to a pair of Polk Audio's M60's suspended 10 feet back and 10 feet high, pointed at an angle down towards the sweet spot.

A Sansui TU-717 tuner, Sansui SC-1330 Cassette Deck and Tascam CD-01U CD Player round out the rest of the gear. All of my audio gear is rack mounted in a 7 foot high Compaq server cabinet that includes a 30,000+ song digital library with rack mounted pull out keyboard and monitor and high speed internet access. It is all set up so I can easily go from surround to pure stereo with a flick of a switch and push some great old school through my analog amps and the speakers of my choice.

This arrangement includes almost a 1000 watts RMS power through the different amps and allows me to "personalize" the audio response in each surround channel and speaker. It is a bit unique I suppose but I could never go back to anything else now. My wife is a saint and never once has complained - no she doesn't have a twin sister - ha!

:music:
