What happens when theres no WAF

What happens when there is no WAF: You an end up with some pretty nice stuff!

Got a line on a 'minty' (totally professionally restored) 1971 British MG sports car for $10g, it's worth 14g. Without a wife ... I would of owned it 2 weeks ago.

You know what WAF got me?

"These speakers are too big for this room. Buy some new ones!"

Twist my arm...

What happens when theres no WAF?

Is it bad that the first thing I noticed in that pic was the Empire?

And the second was the Dynaco PAM-1's/DSC-1

And the third was questioning why they would use such a mediocre R2R with such nice gear.

Then I noticed the ladies.

WAF? Forget it. My wife will put up with anything that keeps me off the street.

But I couldn't live with the OP's room. I have wires all over the floor between my amps and the rest of the system, but other than that it is pretty neat in comparison with the OP pictures.

no.. its not that strange..
i noticed the turntable.. then the ladies.. then the r2r, then the guy messing with the knobs.

The first thing I noticed was the woman's arm on the RTR. That's when HAP comes into play. DON"T LEAN ON THE GEAR!

I'm single. But there's a John Acceptance Factor, sorry. I absolutely hate clutter and think that you can have both great sound and a great looking room.

I like the retro look. It has appeal in conjunction with the downtown apartment arrangement. I certainly wish I had that big of a space to put my system.
The only question I have is when do you get to turn up the volume a little without bothering the other tenants?

WAF or not WAF I like spartan living........... I hate clutter, but it is just a matter of taste, and on that subject I always say:

Taste cannot be argued........But.......There is such thing as........ Educated Taste.....:D

I am a minimalist and hate clutter as well. However, my wife is not. That is why my listening room/office is relegated to a spare bedroom. Marriage is a huge compromise!!

ccheath: Just noticing the two Fisher tube receivers stacked in the closed cabinet... do you have ventilation?

Not bad, but definitely sad. :thmbsp:

They weren't being used at the time the picture was taken. If they were, it would not be in there. The 500c blew one of the tubes a few years ago and 400 was starting to have unbalanced volume level on both channels. I had them stashed until I researched for the best way of getting the bias circuit right for the 500c. Right now the 500c is being used in the living room out of the cabinet, on the table and completely ventilated since I finally found the circuit I was looking for. 500c is about 90% restored (not counting the alignment). The 400 works but is still awaiting replacement 7868 tubes and some repairs for unbalanced channels.
