I really enjoy spending time listening to good music with my female friends. I know of none who are audio gear buffs, but I've been blessed with the satisfaction of seeing some of them enveloped in the sound of my gear, and sit there, quiet, as the music played, with a look of sublime joy on their face.
I also collected records, tools, and at one point motorcycles and motorcycle engines. Those who didn't complain about any of it, were always welcome. And those who enjoyed any of it, those were my favorite companions.
And I in return tolerated, at the very least, if not really enjoyed their passions.
I tolerated the cats (though I'm allergic).
Supported the shoe/boot collection, the jacket collections, the skirt collections, and selfishly enjoyed the passion one had for collecting underwear.
I willingly spent time at doors of dressing rooms. And at puppy kennels. And at book signings, and lectures, poetry readings and sensitive girl-with-guitar folk acts.
I think I only protested once, to the one who collected whiskey. She collected it in her belly, and lots of it. It took it's toll... though now she's fortunately doing much better.
I never got the jewelry thing, and never found a girl who was into it to my liking. That issue solved itself. :thmbsp:
