We're definitely in "eye of the beholder" here. To me it's an elegant blend of form and function, a masterpiece.Okay, maybe it isn't the ugliest ever, but it's pretty bad.
Does anyone know of an uglier one?
I've seen some wooden ones that were not pretty.
I'm not saying it doesn't work well, just that it's ugly.
Looks like it could be Paris Hilton's vibrator
Now we're in "mind of the beholder" territory.Nope, Dolly Parton vib.
I know people rave about the sound, but I cannot get past the brutally ancient look of the SPU myself. Makes these thin Ortofons already mentioned look like something from the future.

When I first saw it I thought it would be very light. Surprised to find it weighed over 10 grams. Different though but of course pricey for a headshell.I just picked up one of these in black. I haven't even had a chance to mount a cartridge on it yet (I need to get some longer mounting screws for the cartridge I have in mind). It's definitely a unique look. Something told me it would show up in this thread.
I do think it’s funny that the look is so important to some people vs the sound. I’d rather her have ugly good sound than beautiful bad sound.

I love the retro look of this.I know people rave about the sound, but I cannot get past the brutally ancient look of the SPU myself. Makes these thin Ortofons already mentioned look like something from the future.
