Seems a complicated procedure on the yal-1, something could break one day, I bought a ya-39 without one.

The procedure is a bit fiddly but as Mark said once it's installed they work great.

Well I was watching a table on the japan site and at the last minute I bid and won it. If I would’ve waited till today, for the same price could’ve bought one with the yal-1 included. You never know on that site, I bid with one minute left and then there’s 10 minutes left?

This is the beast here. Has a Denon 103 and a Yamaha HA-3 headshell
The Little Fwend works with the YA-39 tonearm. The YAL-1 is not difficult to find.

If one person bids within the last five minutes the time autoextends. Basically somebody has to give up within the last five or it goes on indefinitely.

I know the auctions read auto extension, now I know what it means. I think it’s a scam and should be a definitive ending time! theophille had it right when he said they don’t deserve our business!

Oh it's absolutely irritating but if you are comfortable with the final price vs. condition then it's worth the trouble. People on ebay use shills to drive up the price so it is what it is.

Honestly looks great and what you got it for is a steal. One heads up is that the Japanese sellers don't always remove the platter for domestic shipping because their shipping is all white glove. I'm not sure how much Buyee has learned recently about international shipping but you might want to let them know the platter needs to be removed and placed beneath the table. Ordering their extra packing does not guarantee this extra step will be taken.

Right on 808, The first one I bought they had the platter removed and placed under the plinth. The tone arm was already broken along with the dust cover, it was boxed just ok and as you expect not great. I can see this one getting damaged!

I was bummed to find out that my 2000L was shipped with the platter on, otherwise I would have had it packed up and sent it with my last big haul from Japan. Next time I'm there I'll pack it up myself. Might even bring my original hifido box with me to make it easier.

As many TT’s shipped through Yahoo! Japan, they should be professional’s, they more or less told me they only exist because most sellers won’t ship outside Japan! They’ve opened up a world market by acting as a proxy for Japan goods! I received a Denon au 340 in this box, totally unacceptable packaging.

Well Buyee and Yahoo JP are not related companies. Buyee is just a middle man and there are other middle men you can use (Shopping Mall Japan etc.). I personally will never use Buyee ever again.

Yes, this has been the typical kind of packaging I have experienced with “From Japan”, although I have to admit I have not used them for shipping turntables.

I’m on that From japan site now and see the same items listed that buyee has, same sellers and stores? It has (yahoo! auctions) like that

That's how it works. Any proxy bid service can link & overlay the Yahoo JP site. The only connection Buyee has with them is the "click here to buy overseas" banner space they pay for. As far as Yahoo JP is concerned the goods are delivered locally (Yupack, Sagawa etc.) in Japan and that is the extent of their involvement. Any issues/problems/damage after that are introduced by the proxy service.
Anyone interested in the sub platform the YAB-1 it is now for auction on Yahoo and still rather reasonable priced.
