I liked Rotary Connection's cover and thought their cover of Ruby Tuesday was better than the Stones but that's my opinion and was fueled by copious amounts of weed and acid back in the day.

there is a series of albums called "Punk Goes ....." (fill in the blank) and it is sort of a conumdrum cause some of the covers are kind of awesome
for example (i am sort of a sucker for punk covers of songs personally)
but on Punk Goes Classic Rock I really love We The Kings covering - Your Love
but there are also covers of Tom Petty Free Fallin' which is terrible ..basically 1/3 or so of the album is good and 2/3's is totall A**
but anyways the whole punk goes series has a bit of awesome and a ton of puke.

While I own the original Shaggs album, I must have missed the compilation LP that came out years later. Luckily for us, it includes some covers, like this one of the Carpenter's "Yesterday Once More". Vapid, yet charming in a way:

Whitney Houston wailing away "I Will Always Love You" was really awful (sorry, too soon?). The song itself is just awful anyway. It makes me want to jab my ear drums out with a rusty railroad spike. Luckily, I have lots of great music to turn to so I can drown it out of my head.
Lenny Kravitz covering "American Woman" was pretty bad, too.
A few years ago, some hard rock band, don't know who it was, covered Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain." It was really nasty.

It Ain't Me Babe by Cash and Carter is a good choice because it's a reputable cover.
To hear two lovers sing this song to each other is just stupid. Johnny was clearly thinking with his dick when he decided on this one.
It's such a great Dylan song. And so original. It's a shame to see Cash take it so lightly.

The Orleans album cover isn't really that bad. They knew how awkward that cover was which makes it awesome. I could totally see a new, hip band with a cover exactly like that. Font and all.
Let me guess, you heard it on radio over and over and over and over and over in the 90's didn't you? I had that feeling until it stopped. Now, I'm over it.

Sheryl Crow's cover of "Sweet Child O' Mine" was pretty awful, and she's pretty good which made it all the more depressing. I know there's alot of Axl haters but his isn't a voice you really want to try and cover, even if you can sing.

I'm glad someone brought up Mrs Miller, a classic to be sure...
For best of the worst covers, for me it's Barbara Streisand's cover of Bowie's Life on Mars... truly awful, not even fun in a campy way like Mrs Miller is.
Another good one is Liabach's cover of the whole Let It Be album...
